Class Descriptions

  • Gentle, Restorative Yoga

    Gentle Restorative Yoga w/Pilates

    Gain core strength, flexibility, and improve joint health. This class uses slower paced movements with elements of yoga, restorative yoga, and pilates and is suitable for all ages and abilities.

    90 minutes with about 45 min of gentle yoga moves and about 45 min of more active Pilates, with Desarea (Desi)

  • Pilates

    Pilates is a core-based exercise that encourages you to engage your core muscles, focus on breath control, and improve your flexibility and balance. Classes are designed to progressively focus on different areas of your body.

  • Gentle Yoga Stretch

    This class is all about flexibility. Live more comfortably in your body with a series of stretches that will help you to move with more ease, alleviate muscle soreness, correct body imbalances, and improve your posture. Enjoy a calmer mind as well!

  • Intermediate Yoga

    Improve your flexibility, strength and endurance with one hour of Hatha Yoga. In this class we explore individual poses- asana- and movement flows called vinyasa. Yoga is 3,000 years old, but continues to be as relevant today as it has always been.

  • Muscles

    Give your metabolism a boost by building strength, endurance, and bone density with dumbells and bodyweight exercises. Improve your functional strength for your life. This class emphasizes proper form. It’s not just what you do, it’s how you do it

  • Beginning Cardio Dance

    This class combines a half hour of fun, Latin style (and a lot more) dance routines using a variety of American and international music,

  • Adult Water Aerobics

    This is a low impact water aerobics class for seniors focused on improving upper and lower body joint mobility and strength. You will be using water barbells and noodles and ending a fun filled session with a noodle swim.

  • Vinyasa Yoga

    Vinyasa yoga incorporates sequential movement between poses coordinated with intentional breath. Expect a fully balanced class working on balance, strength, and flexibility, with a combination of standing, seating, and prone movement. This is a whole body/breath experience suitable for all ages and fitness levels, but beginners are encouraged to take a few of our Gentle Yoga classes before attending.

  • High Energy Water Aerobics

    Tone and sculpt your body with low impact, high energy water aerobics. This is an intense full body workout with a blend of swimming cardio and resistance training using water weights and noodles.

  • Restorative Yoga

    Restorative yoga is a yoga practice that is slower, more restful, and more relaxing than a traditional yoga class. Restorative yoga often uses props like blankets, blocks, and bolsters to support the body while holding longer stretches. There is an emphasis on breathwork and mindfulness, and a strong focus on the union of body and mind. Restorative yoga benefits include improved sleep quality, release of muscle tension, and promote an overall relaxed state.

  • Beginning HATHA Yoga

    Hatha yoga is a traditional form of yoga. Translated to English, it means “force”. Hatha yoga focuses on breathwork, meditation, and alignment. In Hatha yoga class, students will learn common poses, the Sanskrit names of those poses, and the proper alignment. Students will also be guided in stretching, breathing, and light meditation practices.

  • Bosu Integrated Balance Training

    Starting Thursday, 2 May, Balance class at ACF, led by Debbie Neill, will incorporate the Bosu ball. Class will continue Mondays and Thursdays at 12 noonat ACF. Are you up for a challenge that helps your balance while improving your strength and aerobic capacity? Come join us on Mondays and Thursday and challenge yourself to better balance and strength.

  • Chair Yoga

    This class concentrates on flexibility and some strengthening. It will help you live more comfortably by moving with more ease, alleviating muscle soreness, correcting body imbalances, and improving your posture.

  • One-on-One Personal Training

    Work with an Altitude Certified Personal Trainer to create workouts specifically designed for you. Your private sessions may incorporate Altitude’s pool, weight/cardio room, studio, or pool side jungle gym as part of your workouts.

    Bewildered by all of that equipment in Altitude’s weight/cardio room? Our Front Desk staff can explain how things work, but if you want someone to create a simple workout routine to help get your fitness goals in motion, Cassie can help.

    MUSCLES - DANCE - YOGA

    After a successful Broadway (yes, that Broadway) dancing career including roles with West Side Story and Evita, Cassie raised two sons and eventually become proficient in body building, yoga, and Zumba. She has been with Altitude for over a decade and brings the same passion for excellence she once had for dance in all that she does for us here at Altitude.

  • Desarae (Desi)

    PILATES - CPT - YOGA - WATER AEROBICS

    Desi has AAAI/ISMA certifications in Group Fitness, Aqua Aerobics, Pilates, and Personal Training. Her focus is on improving flexibility, strength, and joint health with precise exercises that strengthen and improve your everyday movements. She uses a mixture of equipment and techniques including weights, controlled and intentional breathing, aerobic and anaerobic movements, elements of Yoga, and aids such as blocks and straps. Her primary aim is to promote lasting growth in both body and mind.

  • Cami

    VINYASA FLOW YOGA

    A graduate of Cambio Yoga’s 200-hour Vinyasa training program, Cami initially studied Yoga for its physical fitness benefits, but remains an avid practitioner for yoga’s ability to build lasting resilience in both body and mind. Her class objective is that students leave every class with something they can take off the mat and into their days, lives, and relationships with themselves and others.

    Cami is Air Force Academy graduate, veteran, triathlon coach, and active in veteran sports rehabilitation programs.

  • Mary

    ADULT WATER AEROBICS

    Mary is a retired RN and medical software entrepreneur. When she retired from hospital nursing she became involved in water aerobics by teaching a class in the Rehabilitation Department therapy pool. Her focus with our members is gentle joint range of motion and muscle strengthening, understanding that many come to class with existing health conditions.

    With a nurse’s attention to “what ails you” she brings a combination of professionalism, laughter, and joy to her classes.
